On countless occasions in my life, meeting with many different people, I’ve heard phrases such as, “I don’t have a talent”, or, “I don’t have any passions”. For some reason I’ve always found these sentences rather aggravate me, as I’ve begun to notice a pattern in the people who think they don’t have any passions in life.
The way I came to this sudden realisation of a “pattern” emerging was through trawling back into my own life. Before I got into any “hobbies” or areas I now consider myself to be passionate about, I acted in a very similar way to these people.
That common phrase, “discover your passions in life”, now makes a LOT of sense to me, as it is JUST that which happened to me.
Until I started actively looking into different hobbies, career paths and areas in life, I stumbled through it just like all those similar to me. You kind of just “do what you’re told to”, in school or by your parents etc. Sure life can still be fun, positive and all the rest of it, but I found my life to become a lot more MEANINGFUL and satisfying when I started searching for my passions.
This is the real *secret* to actually finding your passions in life. Simply through looking for them, they start to appear. You might have a handful of passions you’ll be interested in, not just one.
They can become hobbies, careers and even a way of life for you. Passions are incredible as they can really steer your life in different more “nourishing” directions. But this can only happen for you IF you begin to actively seek them out.
I’ve also encountered people in life who say things such as, “I’m no good at anything”, or, “nah I can’t be bothered”. These people seem to carry a bad attitude towards growth in life, but I feel it’s because they haven’t really started their search yet, and they are unaware of the treasures their awaiting passions have for them.
It’s sad but true that a lot of people go through their entire lives without seeking out their passions. If this feels as though it might be happening to you, DO NOT PANIC, there is a way out!
There are THOUSANDS of different passions out there, and the only way to start finding those which really stick out to you is through experiencing them.
Then once you begin experiencing or “researching” these areas, you will strike a chord with some of them. This will force you to learn more about them, until eventually you become an expert on the subject. All of a sudden, you start to “care” about it, and when it comes up in conversation (or if you start one yourself about the subject) you’ll find yourself actively involved before you can even start to think!
When this happens to you, CONGRATULATIONS you’ve found a passion…!
Remember, you can find passions in almost every area of life. Here’s just a handful of examples:
- Self Improvement
- Full Time Parent
- And many, many more!
The above is a TINY list of examples compared to what’s out there. You’ll start to find passions within passions (if that makes sense!), as the list really goes on and on.
See this as an exciting journey into finding out what you love in life. You might not even know it yet, but you could have a very strong passion for an area you don’t even know exists!
Passions can do wonders for peoples lives and life situations. For example, so many relationships are started through going out and meeting people who share a passion. It’s far easier to build rapport and to really have a meaningful and fun relationship with people who share the same goals as you, and the same interests.
You might find yourself going to college, university, moving homes, countries and more. In amongst all of these things new additions to your life will be made. Things will change, but if you keep acting from your heart and soul focusing on your passions and interests, you’ll begin to become much happier with your life situation.
What do you have to lose? Absolutely nothing. What do you have to gain? Absolutely everything. No matter who you are, how old you are or anything else, you have the ability and self worth to find out what your passions are in life.
Everybody deserves happiness in life, and if those closest to you don’t support you, then maybe you should find new people to surround yourself with?
Through seeing people take action upon this information, I’ve witness some incredible life transformations. People becoming happier, starting families with people who share their passions and interests.
I now know the formula to finding your own passions, talents and more. It all comes down to an adventure into the wonderful world of passions themselves. Learning about them, experiencing them and then choosing which you like best. Then educating yourself on them further, and becoming an expert in the field. Then before you know it, you’ll have a passion in life.
It kills me to see people still thinking that there’s, “nothing special about them OR anything special FOR them out there”. This is 100% rubbish and completely untrue.
Passions grow on you, some quicker than others. Sometimes it seems to so many people that passions are “natural” and that we’re born in certain ways with talents etc. Nine times out ten it’s all about our surroundings, conditioning and what we’re exposed to most.
Therefore, you can use this information to your advantage. If you find an area you’re passionate about, bathe yourself in it as often as possible. Surround your entire life with it, and soon people will start to say you’re “talented” in that area.
Overall, there are passions out there for each and every one of us. Don’t simply “accept” that some people are lucky and have passions/talents, we ALL can have them. It’s simply up to you to discover yours and work with them to make them stronger and more meaningful to you.
